Schiphol voted best European airport in 'Best in Travel Poll 2011'

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol was voted best European airport by Asian online travel magazine SmartTravelAsia.com in its seventh ‘Best in Travel Poll ‘. 

Out of the ten airports to rank highest on the best airports list, eight are Asian. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol was awarded seventh place among these outstanding airports; one rung higher on the ladder than the year before. This places Schiphol just above London Heathrow, which ranked eighth.

SmartTravelAsia.com is a leading travel magazine in Asia. Their online survey was completed by frequent flyers who travel by air 16 times a year on average. More than half of the respondents are Asian residents.

Schiphol: Europe’s preferred airport

This ranking confirms Amsterdam Airport Schiphol’s goal to be and remain Europe’s Preferred Airport. Schiphol is continually engaged in innovations to its passenger facilities, exemplified for instance by the recent opening of the fully renovated Lounge 3. The fact that Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is appreciated in Asia to such an extent shows that it is living up to its ambitions in this part of the world.
