Every city or village of some importance has a tourist information office, a VVV. The offices are easily recognizable by the blue and white VVV sign. VVVs are often situated in the center of the city. They have qualified, multi-lingual staff to help you find a budget hotel, museum or restaurant. In general, the services the VVV provide are free of charge.
The local tourist information office, VVV, offers:
The VVV can provide you with free brochures for hotels, restaurants and attractions. Detailed maps with city walks and cycling routes and larger, regional maps are often available at a small price.
The VVV also advises you on available guided tours. Fees are usually agreed on and paid beforehand. If you are happy with the guide’s services, a tip is much appreciated
