This April, Centraal Ketelhuis (central boiler house) reopened their doors after a renovation of the historic industrial building.

The venue is centrally located and within walking distance of Amersfoort Central Station. The industrial nature of the building is well reflected in the interior. There is a bar where steel is processed and the original pipework on the wall functions as a work of art.

The Central Boiler house was built between 1904 and 1917 and consisted of a battery room with crane and a boiler house with three large boilers.

The renovation work was carried out in close consultation with the Conservation Department of the Municipality of Amersfoort. Remarkably, the chimneys on the roof of the central boiler house were equipped with solar cells, getting the building its historic role as energy supplier a little back again.

The Central Boiler house is architected by Dirk Margadant. It was  designed in the style of the Renaissance Delft and Berlage. Since 2007, the central boiler house has the status of a national monument. The building is a reminder of the history of railway construction in the Netherlands and is a typical example of industrial factory building from the early twentieth century.

The venue can be hired for various business meetings, such as meetings, product launches, conferences, corporate events and seminars. Besides two rooms the venue offers a spacious terrace in the sun with a beautiful view of the historic industrial buildings wagon workshop.

Capacity: up to 350 persons
