How do you know if the hotel, conference centre or attraction you want to book for your meeting is the best in sustainable travel? Green Globe Travel can help you find the best partners for your trip.
The Green Globe Standard is a structured assessment of the sustainability performance of travel and tourism businesses and their supply chain partners. It is a collection of 337 compliance indicators (depending on type of certification, geographical area and local factors) applied to 41 individual sustainability criteria. The Green Globe Standard is reviewed and updated twice per calendar year.
In order to become a Green Globe Certified Member, the business must undergo a complete annual on-site audit by an independent auditor. The Green Globe Certification can only be awarded to Green Globe Members with a compliance of at least 51% with all applicable Green Globe Standard indicators.
In short: Green Globe Members are continuously being reviewed to make sure they are actively contributing to a better future for the people and the places you visit.
Registering as a Green Globe Member is a first step towards supporting the development of sustainable travel. They should aim at developing their sustainability management, their environmental, socio-economic and cultural management qualifying for the Green Globe Certification audit. Only Green Globe Members are authorized to use the Green Globe corporate logo on their webpage.
