Efteling Theme Park Resort

Efteling Theme Park Resort is Europe’s third largest theme park and is open 365 days a year.

For the thrill seeking visitor Efteling has a huge variety of rollercoasters including one that takes place in the dark, an unusual double rail wooden rollercoaster, a bobsleigh ride and a wild water ride.  New for summer 2015 is the exhilarating new dive rollercoaster, the Baron 1898, which has a gold mining theme.  The ride begins with a treacherous 37.5m freefall down a mineshaft followed by a half loop, then a half roll at 90km per hour into a Zero G roll (an inside out corkscrew where visitors will momentarily experience weightlessness) finally the ride finishes with a fast spiral.

In addition to rollercoaster rides, the park has a plenty to offer visitors keen to see the resort from another viewpoint. The Pagode, a flying Thai temple revolves and reaches dizzy heights and offers stunning views over the whole resort.  Boat rides are available across the park’s lake, or for a slower pace still, take a seat to watch the amazing Raveleijn ‘live’ show and be amazed at the fire breathing dragon and horseback stunts. Childrens rides operate in and around the Fairytale Forest. Dutch artist Anton Pieck designed the buildings and characters that fill the Fairytale Forest and you can also discover more universal fairytale characters such as Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretal and the Troll King. There is also a maze to explore and a Haunted House.

At the end of the day, the daily Aquanura water show dazzles visitors with over 200 fountains some reaching heights of 45 meters. The display is the biggest in Europe and third largest in the world.

It is possible to stay overnight at the Efteling resort. There is a themed hotel onsite and the Efteling Village Bosrijk provides a self-catering option, both are sited within easy walking distance of the park where guests can enter the park 30 minutes ahead of day visitors and also enjoy unlimited access during their stay.

The Efteling Hotel offers double or family rooms and unique themed suites each with a fairytale to tell.  The hotel is child friendly and features a large restaurant which has a fantastic playroom with videos featuring Efteling characters like Jokie and Jet.

Efteling Village Bosrijk is a spacious holiday village set in woodlands and offers a choice of accommodation ranging from lakeside lodges, woodland cottages and gate house apartments.  The village has a restaurant with an extensive menu, swimming pool, children’s story telling area, pizza delivery service, fresh rolls and croissants for breakfast also delivered to your door.

De Efteling is located in Kaatsheuvel, South Holland. Eindhoven is the closest airport to the park, the ferry terminal at Hoek van Holland is approximately an hour’s drive. Day passes start at €34, children under 4 enter for free.
