Burgh-Haamstede

Light house of Burgh-Haamstede

Surrounded by woods in the north of the island of Schouwen lies Westerschouwen, Burgh and Haamstede, better known collectively as Burgh-Haamstede. Burgh and Haamstede have almost merged and together form a delightful town for a longer stay. All accommodation is situated in woodlands close to the beach.

Transferium

Unique in this region is the tourist park and ride facility. To clear the area of cars as much as possible, the municipality built a huge 24-hour security car park which offers park and ride services. An extensive bus service links the various accommodations, the beach, the villages and the hinterland. Alternatively, you may decide to cycle your way around.

The beach

Another unique element of the coast of Schouwen is the beach. From the many types of beaches on offer here, you are bound to find one to suit your taste. Choose from the luxury beach with elegant facilities and comfort, a natural beach (with few facilities), an activity beach where sports activities are organized, a family beach and a nudist beach. The choice is yours!

Bars, disco's and pubs

For people who are looking for an active 'disco holiday' Renesse is the place to be in the Delta district. With its bars, discos, pubs and restaurants this resort attracts people from the region as well as holiday-makers. As you will understand, this is not the place to be if you're looking for peace and quiet.
