Directly on the sea

Katwijk is situated directly on the sea and boasts a promenade perfect for a leisurely stroll. While you're there, make sure to pay a visit to the oldest lighthouse on the Dutch coast and the little white church. The church backs onto a small courtyard which is lined with old fishing cottages. It will give you an impression of the importance of the village in earlier times.

Once you have visited the region Holland Rijnland, you will always come back! Katwijk, Leiden, Lisse, Noordwijk, Noordwijkerhout and Warmond have a great deal to offer: many attractions, museums, entertainment, accommodations and recreation areas in a varied landscape. In spring you can enjoy the blooming tulipfields near Lisse. Favourite activity in summer among guests is visiting the 17 km long beach in Katwijk and Noordwijk. The Old Dutch city Leiden with its monumental façades and canals is certainly worthwhile visiting.

During the summer the main activities take place on the beach and along the seafront. Restaurants, terraces and beach pavillions give a warm welcome. Autumn and winter are the seasons to get a breath of fresh air in Katwijk.
In every season a visit to the shopping area and 'Katwijks Museum' is worth while. There are plenty of accommodations in Katwijk, ranging from three star hotels to B&B, from hospitable boarding houses to modern camping sites and for boat owners there is a beautiful marina.
