Spiegelkwartier

The Spiegelkwartier district lies just behind the Rijksmuseum. Countless art and antiques shops jostle for space in a few narrow streets. From classical to exotic to contemporary art, you will find it all here.

Rozengracht

This district in the Jordaan harbours several galleries that mainly sell works by young Dutch artists and designers. Fons Welters Gallery, Ellen de Bruijne Projects and the Stedelijk Museum Bureau are well worth a visit.

Canals

There are many galleries with special exhibitions along Amsterdam’s canals. The Prinsengracht has GO Gallery and Galerie P. Clement and the Keizersgracht has FOAM, if you like photography exhibitions by world-famous photographers and upcoming talents.

This shop is heaven for those who love Design Classics. Here you will find an enormous collection of furniture and accessories from both international and Dutch designers, both new and used. Famous originals from classic designers include works by Gerrit Rietveld himself, Droog co-founder Gijs Bakker, as well as Philippe Starck, Martin Visser and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (of "Barcelona Chair" fame). Located in a beautiful canal house, The Frozen Fountain is primarily a shop that sells contemporary furniture and home- accessories. Gjalt Pilat is an interior designer who creates furniture that fits its surroundings and its users. In order to achieve this, he uses natural materials and combines them in a refined way, resulting in simple and well-balanced designs. Wonder Wood

Wonder Wood is both a gallery and a shop. They show, as they call it, the “wonder world of wood” in design, furniture, art, decoration and so much more. Their specialty is plywood chairs and tables from the 20th century, but there is lots more.

Moooi Gallery

The gallery is the flagship store of the iconic dutch design shop. A ccording to Marcel Wanders and Casper Vissers, co-founders of Moooi, the extra 'o', means 'extra beautiful' in Dutch. The Moooi store displays its furniture, lighting, accessories and textiles in an gallery-like space.
