  • Interactive, video and art installations

Much more than performances and films

At Cinedans the emphasis lies on choreographies created specifically for on-camera performance and extraordinary film interpretations of existing dance performances. Furthermore, a selection of special documentaries and retrospectives are shown. During the festival approximately seventy films from all over the world will be screened. In addition to the film program there will also be readings, debates and workshops to attend.

Art in movement

In the ever-changing landscape of media, the creators are constantly seeking different ways to tell their stories. Contemporary dance films are often independent pieces of art with a language of their own and expressiveness that cannot be categorized. Cinedans closely follows this movement and in addition to the film program it focuses on different forms of crossover projects and media installations with movement as its main subject.

The festival

The festival takes place at the EYE, the best hang out for lovers of flittering film. This white wonder of architecture not only houses Holland’s cinematographic heritage, it also has one of the best views of Amsterdam.
