Rotterdam is greener than you might think. So get on a bicycle and discover the most beautiful parks in Rotterdam. Start at the bicycle tunnel below the Nieuwe Maas and take the escalators to cross underneath the river. When you arrive on the Zuidoever, follow the Kromme Zandweg where you will see Landhuis de Oliphant, a lovely mansion. This will take you to the recently renovated Zuiderpark. Kralingse Bos

Continue on towards the Brienenoordbrug bridge, with Brienenoord Island and the rugged nature reserve to your left. After returning to the Noordoever you will ride along the Nesserdijk, an old part of Rotterdam that dates from 1270. Continue on past the Kralingse Plas (with De Tuin’s beautiful terrace by the water) and through the Kralingse Bos forest to reach Hillegersberg with its flora and lovely ponds.

End point Euromast

The itinerary continues along the ‘people's gardens’ (small plots of land originally reserved for railway personnel but these days used by city folk who have no garden) sprawling around Park Zestienhoven. Follow the banks of the Schie river to reach beautiful historic Delfshaven. The last part of this itinerary takes you to the welcoming park at the foot of the Euromast, which was designed by the landscape architect Zocher.
