Indoor shopping in The Hague
The Hague has a lot to offer in terms of shopping: from art and design to fashion, shoes and souvenirs. The Hague has it all. If you want to go shopping but the weather isn’t so good, there are plenty of places to go for an indoor shopping spree. We have selected the best shopping centres and department stores for you.
Haagsche Passage (de Passage): This is the oldest shopping centre in Holland, with beautiful architecture and some really nice shops. There are fashion and jewellery and book shops, as well as a great shop for kitchenware, in the Passage between the Spuistraat, Hofweg and Buitenhof.
Maison de Bonneterie (Gravenstraat 2): Next to the Buitenhof you will find this chic department store in a ‘rijksmonument’, a national heritage site. It stocks women’s, men’s and children’s fashion from top brands.
De Bijenkorf (Wagenstraat 32): De Bijenkorf is located in a special building on the Grote Marktstraat. It is one of the most popular department stores in Holland and stocks many top brands. Go to this store for fashion, perfumes, books and interior design.
Hema (Grote Markstraat 57): The Hema offers the best products at the best price. The quality of this typically Dutch department store is praised far and wide. It sells everything from clothing and food to items for the home and school. The Hema is also known for selling warm Dutch smoked sausage (rookworst), which you should try at least once!
