During National Museum Week, hundreds of well-known and less famous museums can be visited for free or at a discount. There are countless activities in museums throughout the country. You can attend a special guided tour or workshop, visit lectures, and explore the exhibitions created especially for the event.

Participating museums

From Groningen to Limburg, more than 300 Dutch museums open up their collections. Examples are the Groninger Museum, the Museum aan het Vrijhof in Maastricht, and the wonderfully located Kröller-Müller Museum. Museum Week is an excellent opportunity to discover the art treasures of Holland.

Museums for children

There is a lot to do for children during National Museum Week, too. Many museums organize activities especially for children. Recommended museums are Frisian Nature Museum and the Railway Museum in Utrecht. But the Holland Open Air Museum and EYE Amsterdam also organize great activities for children. They will definitely have fun!

A different theme every year

Museum Week changes every year. Every new edition has its own theme. This allows you to discover a different aspect of Holland’s ‘real gold’ every time.

Museum discounts throughout the year

If you are not in Holland during National Museum Week, you can still visit museums at a discount. Discover special museums, such as the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, and Hermitage Amsterdam, and buy your tickets online. The more tickets you order, the higher the discount.
