The best shopping streets in Breda

A number of streets in Breda are known for their specialty stores and great boutiques. Veemarktstraat is the best-known shopping street in Breda. Wilhelminastraat is the luxury shopping area with exclusive brands. Ginnekenweg boast many vintage and antiques shops.

’t Sas

Within walking distance of the Great Church, right in the middle of Breda, is the bustling small square called ‘t Sas. It is a hidden location but definitely worth looking for with its great selection of shops. If you want a break, visit the lovely coffee boutique with its excellent pastries! The main entrance is on Lange Brugstraat across the entrance of De Barones shopping centre.

De Barones

De Barones is also located in the city centre. This indoor shopping centre is where you will find many popular shops, as well as famous department store Bijenkorf and shops selling books and toys. There are also several fashion stores like Hennes & Maurits. There are two entrances, on Lange Brugstraat and Eindstraat. De Barones also offers underground parking facilities.

The centuries-old Ginneken district, which the locals call ’t Ginneke, was an autonomous village until the early nineteenth century. Today it is one of the most popular and pleasant shopping districts in southern Breda. Its centre is the Ginnekenmarkt square, which is lined with great cafés and restaurants and surrounded by at least forty great boutiques.
