Canal House - Amsterdam
Right along the beautiful canal, the Keizersgracht, in Amsterdam sits an amazing 17th century hotel. Three classic Amsterdam houses were combined to create The Canal House along one of the most famous canals in the city. The combination of classic and traditional design creates a magnificent contrast of its history and present.
- Three classic 17th century canal houses
- Traditional and modern Dutch design
- Located in a cultural hotspot
Boutique but modern
This beautiful boutique hotel was established by an eccentric American entrepreneur who was an avid collector of Dutch art and paraphernalia. This hotel combines contemporary and conventional Dutch interior, creating a comfortable and glamorous atmosphere for all their guests. Inside, the use of traditional textiles and styles enhances the presence of classic Dutch art and history, combined with elements of modern Dutch design, such as the classic gables, large narrow windows and wide steps to the front door.
The Canal house is unusual in its size and scale. Its triple width garden and idiosyncratic horse shoe shape are both very rare features of Amsterdam canal houses. The hotel includes a large garden, a gazebo, a summer house for private dining, the bar and the great hall.
As the hotel is located in one of the city’s cultural hotspots, the Jordaan, there is lots to do in the area. Dine at some of Amsterdam’s best restaurants, shop in beautiful little boutiques and admire the distinctive architecture that Amsterdam has to offer.
