Skatepark Westblaak is located in the heart of Rotterdam, surrounded by skyscrapers and apartment blocks. Halfpipes, ramps and other odd looking aluminium objects form the backdrop to this attractive skate track. There are benches along the side where, on sunny days, crowds gather to admire the performers. Every day, the Rotterdam skate park draws dozens of youngsters keen to demonstrate the best tricks on their skates, inline skates, skateboards and BMX bikes.
Skating events and lessons
Skatepark Westblaak hosts several skating and skateboarding championships and events every year. There is a full programme, particularly in summer. You can also turn to the Rotterdam skate park if you want to learn how to skate or skateboard. Talk to the park manager if you would like to attend a class or lesson and ask about the options.
Skating in Rotterdam
Rotterdam is the skating capital of Holland. You can visit Skatepark Westblaak for free every day of the week or you can participate in one of the biggest skating events in Europe. The Wednesday Night Skate is held every Wednesday in July and August. Thousands of skaters meet up to complete a 13 km itinerary through the streets of Rotterdam.
