Westbroek Park is one of the most beautiful parks in The Hague. When the weather is nice many youngsters and families come to Westbroek to enjoy a game of soccer and a picnic. The colourful rose garden is one of the park’s highlights, as is the romantic tearoom where you can enjoy high tea or rent a rowing boat. Children can play for hours on the playing field or enjoy the midget golf course.
Rose garden and playground
The Westbroek park rose garden has acquired international fame. The rose garden contains approximately 20,000 rose bushes and more than 300 varieties of roses. Approximately 25,000 roses flower between July and October.
The part of Westbroek park without roses contains a large playing field and a playground. Left of the entrance of Westbroek park you can enjoy a round of midget golf. On the right lies a popular stir-fry restaurant.
Westbroek Park Tearoom
Directly behind the rose garden, hidden among the trees, lies the romantic Waterkant tearoom. Every day delightful lunches prepared with fresh ingredients are served here. Enjoy your lunch on the grass terrace. For just a few euros you can even rent a rowing boat with which you can explore the park.
The tearoom is open daily from 10.00 a.m. to 21.00 p.m. between 30 April and the third Tuesday of September. You can reach Waterkant either via the main entrance or by ferry from the Haringkade.
