Royal Delft, established in 1653, is the last remaining Delftware manufacturer from the 17th century. The world famous Royal Delftware is still entirely hand painted according to centuries-old tradition.
The Royal Delft Experience takes the visitor on a modern journey through the world of the centuries-old earthenware. You are led from an audiovisual presentation on the history and production process to a painting demonstration where you can see a painter at work. During this journey you will be introduced to the other two icons of Delft: the Dutch Royal Family and Johannes Vermeer, by visiting the Royal Family Chamber where our Royal Delftware specially made for the Royal Family can be admired and the authentic dining room of painter Vermeer, our time companion from the 17th century.
In our museum, a collection of antique pieces of Delft Blue earthenware can be admired and in our factory, the authentic production process can be witnessed. In our showroom the complete collection of hand painted classic and modern Delftware and souvenirs are displayed and can be purchased. We also offer tax free shopping and we can ship the products abroad.
Visitors can also experience the craftsmanship themselves by joining one of our painting workshops and trying their hand at our Delft Blue paint. In our brasserie that overlooks the beautiful courtyard garden, small groups can enjoy a cup of coffee, High tea or lunch in a Delft Blue atmosphere. On the first floor there are large rooms that can cater for groups up to 120 people.
We have guided and audio tours available in 8 languages. There is free Wi-Fi and bus parking at all times.
Royal Delft is easily accessible from Amsterdam, the Hague and Rotterdam.
