Amsterdam and Holland Art Cities

During the 2009 theme year ‘Amsterdam Art City’, Holland’s capital trains the spotlight on its museum treasures. The opening of the Amsterdam Hermitage and the new Stedelijk Museum are excellent reasons for this. During the theme year, Amsterdam offers many special exhibitions. Participating museums are the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Rijksmuseum. In addition, the Royal Palace on Dam Square will reopen in June 2009, after a two-year restoration period.
