The Mobile Event Assistant (MEA) has already scooped two awards for the best innovative product of the meeting industry. Johan Bax, director of producer Log On, predicts that mobile technology is set to play an even greater role in this industry.

The MEA, a mobile communication application, is based on mobile internet. The system enables every conference organiser to maintain contact with participants both before, during and after the event. During meetings the MEA supplies accurate and up-to-date information and personal schedules for the participants, whilst also facilitating matchmaking and interactive text voting. An additional advantage is that participants can easily trace each other through the system database to get in touch both before and after the event. Other aspects such as the events calendar and practical information about the organisation and accommodation can also be easily consulted.

No more paper problems

The MEA solves the paper problem of large meetings and takes us a step closer to green entrepreneurship. And another great thing is that no investments in technological infrastructure are necessary - because the MEA works via any internet-linked mobile device, mobile telephone, PDA or laptop. So it is now within almost everybody’s reach, irrespective of their appliance or network provider.
