Enjoy Dutch Blooms
The season starts at the end of March when the crocuses are in bloom. In the beginning of April these are followed by the daffodils and early tulips and tulipas. In mid-April it is the turn of the daffodils and the hyacinths, while the tulips are in bloom from mid-April until the first week of May.
Bulb areas
The bulb fields are located in the area behind the North Sea dunes, between Leiden and Den Helder. Another bulb-growing area lies around Enkhuizen (Bovenkarspel, Andijk) and Flevoland (Noordoostpolder, East Flevoland). Hiking, cycling and car routes are available from the local tourist information offices in the bulb areas.
Blossom regions
Usually the fruit trees blossom between mid-April and mid-May. In the southern part of the province of Limburg the blossom period usually starts one week earlier. The best places to admire the spring blossoms are the Betuwe (Gelders Rivierengebied), Zuid-Beveland (routes start at the local tourist information offices in Goes and Yerseke) and South-Limburg (Eijsden, St. Geertruid, Gronsveld).
