Are you visiting Amsterdam and in for an interesting experience? Come to the authentic Gassan Diamonds factory. Here you will see diamond cutters and diamond polishers at work. Numerous diamonds and jewels may be admired from up close. Gassan Diamonds is located near the Waterlooplein in a splendid monumental, former steam-driven diamond-cutting factory that dates back to 1878. Do also pay a visit to Holland’s largest retail jeweller’s, the Amsterdam Diamond Center. This centre is located opposite the Royal Palace on Dam Square. Gaze in admiration at the comprehensive collection of jewels and the attractive range of watches by 35 top brands.

 

Gassan Diamonds
At Gassan Diamonds the goldsmiths’ craft is still being practised in the company’s own forge. A permanent exposition presents the history of the 400-year-old Amsterdam diamond trade and of the family-run Gassan Diamonds. Royal Delft has a branch in the former boiler house in the courtyard of the complex. Here artists hand-paint the world famous Delftware, in accordance with a centuries-old tradition.

 

Diamond Tour
Each visitor awaits a warm welcome at Gassan Diamonds. You will be given a free, one-hour-long, guided tour. This guide service is available in 25 languages. The tours are available for both groups and individual visitors throughout the day, seven days per week. Advance reservations are preferred, but not necessary. After the tour, you can enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee or tea in the coffee shop and browse through the attractive gift shop.

 

Brilliant present
Naturally, you will have the opportunity to buy diamonds and jewels during the guided tour, without obligation. You may, for instance, select a loose diamond and a piece of jewellery to mount it on to. Within thirty minutes the loose diamond will be set in the jewel of your choice. You may also have a jewel designed or have your own design realised in the forge. You may prefer to select an item from Gassan Diamonds’ own, exclusive collection of jewels. From as little as EUR 150 you can be the proud owner of a diamond ring, with certificate. After the diamond tour you will feel like a genuine diamond expert! You will know how diamonds are formed and mined. The process of turning a rough diamond into a cut diamond or an emerald will no longer have any secrets for you.
