The Hague Festivals

Since 2007, the month of June in The Hague is dominated by The Hague Festivals. This means ten days of different events at different levels that will generate national or perhaps even international attention for our city. For instance:

The Hague Sculpture – an open-air exhibition with a different theme each year. In 2007, the theme was The Other Side/Down Under and in 2008 it was Freedom.

Festival Classique - national and international classical toppers on dozens of stages.

Shopping Night – on the last Thursday of June, the shops are opened till midnight offering many discounts and performances.

Parkpop – the largest free pop festival in Europe.

July and August 2009/2010

International Fireworks Festival

The firework shows during the Friday Night Summer Fireworks series are the run-up to the International Firework Festival in Scheveningen. Not only will the fireworks light up the sky above Scheveningen, it will make the air tremble! A random selection from the display: spider effects that appear to move through the air with long fiery legs that transform into golden crowns with blue stars or slowly rising chrysanthemum effects with glittery tails. It once again promises to be a kaleidoscope of purple, green, silver, red and orange fireworks, a display that will fascinate both young and old.
