Shop till you drop in The Hague




The Hague is a great place for shopping! Set amongst The Hague’s ancient streets, you will find many shops ranging from upmarket boutiques to high street shops, art galleries, antiques and interior design stores. All the shops in the city centre are open every Sunday.
Shopping Night
On the last Thursday of June (25 June 2009), the shops are opened till midnight offering many discounts and performances.
The Passage
The Passage is an entirely restored shopping arcade with a great selection of small boutiques and special interest shops.
Haagsche Bluf
The Haagsche Bluf shopping centre is a pleasant place to wander. Amongst its eclectic mix of architecture and fountains you will find a mixture of high quality shops selling mostly international brands, various bars and restaurants.
Fred
The local Tourist Board recommends De Frederik Hendriklaan (or Fred as it’s called by the locals) as the best and most ‘gezellige’ shopping street in The Hague. It’s situated in the middle of The Hague’s Statenkwartier.
Fashion
The Hoogstraat is a great place if you are looking for high-end fashion. For street fashion and affordable gifts, visit the Spuistraat or Venestraat.

Prinsestraat
The Prinsestraat and neighbouring streets are best for 20th century collectibles, design and souvenir shopping. Here you’ll find KaDenz which has many quirky and well crafted items on Prinsestraat 25. On 90a there’s MAD Design, a great retro design shop and you can find Art Deco specialist Galerie Stromingen on 48.
