Wining & dining

Restaurants
Do you fancy a five-course dinner in a top restaurant? Or do you prefer to have a basic meal in a pub serving meals? Utrecht offers a range of international restaurants, as well as eateries serving delicious traditional dishes and pancakes. The average plate only just holds the giant pancakes for which Holland is known. The restaurants along the quaysides of the canals are unique.
Café
A foaming, ice-cold beer in a cosy bar? A delicious cup of coffee in a grand café? A sing-a-long in a typically Dutch pub? The many Utrecht cafés, pubs and grand cafés exude a friendly atmosphere both during the day and at night. Revelers party on until the wee hours of the morning in the student pubs.
Sidewalk cafés
The Dutch love to relax at a sidewalk café with a drink and a snack. Utrecht offers some of the very best places for this favourite pastime: its great quaysides. At festival square De Neude, at ‘t Wed and Dom Square you can also sit back and enjoy an outdoors meal or drink while watching the world go by.
Clubs
The local people enjoy a party which offers some extras. Many of the clubs offer weekly live entertainment, ranging from cabaret and poetry readings to art performances. These are well worth a visit.
