Architecture
Thanks to projects like the district of De Kiefhoek, designed by architect J.J. P. Oud, and the world famous Van Nelle factory by Brinkman, Rotterdam enjoyed international renown as a centre of modern architecture as early as the 1920s and 1930s. After WWII, Rotterdam rapidly became the number one city of architecture. Today, it's still the only dutch city with a true skyline.
