New Year's Dive - Scheveningen

On the first day of the new year the New Years Dive takes places at Scheveningen. The New Years Dive has become a Dutch tradition which is a refreshing start of the year and a great way to get rid of your hangover. On 1 January 2009 another 10.000 people will take the dive in a very cold North Sea to start the new yeas as never before.

The run towards the sea will start at exactly 12pm at the pier of Scheveningen and the brave ones who conquered the cold will get a hot cup of pea soup of the event's sponsor Unox afterwards.

New Year Dives take place all over the country but the Scheveningen one is definitly the biggest.
