The Lower Rhine is the perfect setting for an active holiday. The relatively flat landscape, crystal clear lakes, large forests, unexplored heathlands and river dunes (which are actually unique to the region), make this scenic terrain an outdoor enthusiasts dream.

Cycling

Lower Rhine is the perfect place for the cycling enthusiast.  The German Lower Rhine offers 3,000km network of well signposted cycle paths with varying challenge levels.  The Dutch Lower Rhine also has a developed cycling network, especially with bicycles being the preferred mode of transport in Holland.  In Nijmegen (Holland) there is even a museum dedicated to bicycles at Velorama.
