Visit the Catholic St. John's Cathedral (Sint-Janskathedraal) and be amazed by its extensive and richly decorated interior. Often called Holland's most beautiful cathedral, it was built between 1370 and 1529 and is the pride of the city.

Brabant’s Gothic Style

St John’s Cathedral was built in Brabant’s Gothic style and exudes a feeling of the prosperity which 's-Hertogenbosch enjoyed in the late Middle Ages. Unique in the Netherlands are the double arches and rich interior. Unique in the world are the 96 carved figures, which were inspired by the painter Jheronimus Bosch. The Catholic St. John's Cathedral has been the seat of the Bishop of 's-Hertogenbosch since 1835.
