Marcel Wanders’ oeuvre is multidisciplinary and broad, ranging from household products to furniture and interior designs. He has been one of world’s most outstanding designers since the nineteen eighties and has created a wild and wondrous range of designs. The biggest presentation of his work ever will open at Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam on 1 February 2014.
A look in Marcel Wanders’ world
Pinned Up at the Stedelijk, 25 Years of Design is his first museum exhibition in Europe since 1999. Covering 1,100 square metres of exhibition space, it is also his biggest exhibition ever. More than 400 objects, including original sketches, prototypes, experimental work and other ‘special projects’ will give you a look into the world of this unique designer from Amsterdam.
3 themed zones explain many roles
Marcel Wanders’ world is exhibited in three different zones and each of them offers a unique look into his creative brain. The 'White Zone' analyses Wanders’ work in terms of craftsmanship, innovation and storytelling. The 'Black Zone' reveals his more theatrical world in an intimate manner. And the 'Art Direction Lounge' explores his role as an Art Director for brands like Moooi.
