Kijkduin is the less known seaside resort of The Hague. Most beach lovers visit the beach of Scheveningen, but the beaches of Kijkduin are only 30 bicycle minutes away to the west. The beach is known as as a friendly family beach, where parents read a book on the sand while their children enjoy the surf.

Shopping and dining

Kijkduin has a shopping centre that is open seven days a week. Shop for fashion and jewellery in small boutiques, shoe shops and fashion stores, look for memorable souvenirs in gift shops and furniture shops or treat yourself to some of the delicacies sold by butchers, specialised bakeries and cheese shops.

Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants along the promenade of Kijkduin while taking in the sunset and the rushing of the sea in the background. Kijkduin offers cuisines ranging from Mexican to French and from Italian to Dutch, but you can also enjoy pancakes at Klein Seinpost or Poffertjeshuis Kijkduin.
