Henk Chabot was a Dutch expressionist and a 20th century icon of visual arts. Most of his work can be found at the Chabot Museum. His paintings, drawings and sculptures can be divided into four categories; portraits, landscapes, figures and animals.
The collection of Henk Chabot is on show in a striking white villa. This monumental house in Rotterdam’s Museumparkwas designed by the well-known Dutch architect G.W. Baas. After visiting the Chabot Museum, you will probably be able to recognize several works of him in the streets of Rotterdam. His most famous sculpture represents the bombing of Rotterdam.
A visit to the Chabot Museum is recommended to any art lover who wants to learn more about Dutch expressionism. You can easily combine a visit to the Chabot Museum with one to Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and the Kunsthal.
