Westerpark - Cultuurpark Westergasfabriek

The Cultuurpark Westergasfabriek (Culture park) is a unique complex of industrial architecture from 1883. The red brick buildings now accommodate cultural institutions, such as film theatre het Ketelhuis and het MC Theater, and many restaurants and catering establishments with cosy terraces. The grounds of the Westergasfabriek were transformed into an extraordinary park of 14 hectare that has meanwhile received numerous international awards.

Events & Festivals

What was once the largest coal gas plant is now the spot for creative and cultural entrepreneurs. The Westergasfabriek has developed into an important cultural hotspot with an international aura. The grounds accommodate galleries, restaurants, cafés and a film theatre. But also annually recurring events such as the Amsterdam International Fashion Week, Awakenings, Latin Village, the Winter parade and the Affordable Art Fair have found their home here. Whenever you are here, there is always something to do in Cultuurpark Westergasfabriek.

Fine Wining & Dining

You will find bakery De Bakkerswinkel at the entrance, which offers delicious traditionally baked bread. The galleries Hot Ice, Art Olive and de Kunstfabriek mainly exhibit work by young artists. It is also a perfect place for an evening out. Enjoy good food and beverages in Pacific Park or on the Westergas terrace. Have a lovely cup of coffee at the Espressofabriek and visit the Ketelhuis for Arthouse-films. Then finish the evening off at the Flex Bar, where you can dance until late at night.
