| | The Lloyd Hotel, centrally situated in the heart of Amsterdam’s Eastern Docklands Area, is a new hotel in Amsterdam. Renowned Dutch architects, designers and artists have transformed this monument dating from 1921 in a hotel where many inhabitants of Amsterdam, international artists, tourists and business people feel at home. All 116 rooms –with a luxury rating from one to five stars- differ in size and interior. The difference in price is linked to the difference in surface area. The interior decoration is a combination of modern Dutch design and timeless classics. The hotel was rebuilt by famous Rotterdam architect firm MVRDV, who are known among other things for their Holland Pavilion at the World Expo 2000. The brief given to MVRDV was to accentuate spaciousness and inventiveness. The guiding principle of the initiators of the Lloyd Hotel was that the hotel should be the kind of place they themselves would like to stay at: a welcoming place where neighbors might feel free to pop in and snuggle up with a good book in the library. A place you would feel as comfortable recommending to your friends as you would to your parents. The Lloyd hotel caters for every budget. The Lloyd Hotel is very well situated in one of Amsterdam’s hottest areas and it has direct public transport connections to the heart of the city (approx. 10 minutes). The rooms have lovely views over the fashionable Eastern Docklands area. Lloyd Hotel has a bar and two restaurants - SNEL and SLOOM – Each night people from Amsterdam flock to the hotel to eat and drink in the SNEL (brisk) restaurant that is open till 1am. SLOOM (leisurely) is a small, comfortable and more intimate restaurant. In SLOOM you can eat whatever suits your appetite based on the classic European cuisine. For guests with an early morning appetite the 24h room service which offers the complete menu is always available. Lots of personal attention was devoted to the decoration of the rooms, which also have free broadband internet access. (2MBit) and free satellite television (with a selection of special and interesting channels). The public areas have free WIFI access. There is a soundproof music room, a library, a ticket booth where you can get tickets for theatre performances and concerts and even a “corner” shop. The hotel has parking facilities in its own parking garage.Prices (EUR) 2005
