Hermitage Amsterdam announces 2014-2020 exhibition program

Hermitage Amsterdam has announced its exhibition program for 2014-2020.The museum is currently celebrating its fifth year on the Amstel River. The museum will host these nine major exhibitions in the next five years (in chronological order): Dining with the Tsars: Delicate Beauty from the Winter Palace; Napoleon and Alexander: Friend and Foe; Spanish Art; Greek and Scythian Gold; 1917: from Romanov to Revolution; Dutch Masters; European Neoclassicism; Catherine the Great; and Jewels from the Hermitage Treasure Gallery.
Anticipated highlights from the Hermitage St Petersburg collection include works by Rembrandt and other Golden Age painters (Dutch Masters), original tableware of the tsars, such as the Cameo and Green Frog services (Dining with the Tsars), sculptures by Canova, Thorvaldsen and Mengs (European Neoclassicism), paintings by Velázquez, Murillo, Goya and El Greco (Spanish Art) and artworks from the collection of Joséphine de Beauharnais (Napoleon and Alexander).
