Nieuwe Dela Mar theatre

The DeLaMar theatre is one of the most celebrated venues in Amsterdam. Formerly used as a storage space for decors used by the Stadsschouwburg or city theatre, its doors as a theatre opened in 1947. Many plays, cabarets and government-funded productions have been staged here. It was particularly well-known for the much-loved New Year’s Conferences by Wim Sonneveld and Wim Kan.

In the early 21st century, the foundation established by famous TV and theatre producer Joop van den Ende converted the theatre and neighbouring cinema into a wonderful new theatre with two big halls (over 600 and 900 seats). The theatre reopened in 2010 and has since hosted many popular musicals and theatre productions.

If you want to visit the theatre, you will find it in the city centre of Amsterdam near the Leidseplein.
