Holland offers a wide range of meeting and conference facilities. We are possibly the country with the largest number of event venues per km². In the country’s main cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht, fantastic large conference venues are readily available, some of which are to be expanded considerably.
New international congress center for Ahoy
Ahoy Rotterdam will be undergoing major modernization and expansion with an international convention center in the coming years. Ahoy's present Exhibition & Event venue will undergo a complete makeover during stage 1. The expansion plans include an international conference center with 35 rooms, which will encompass a theater/auditorium. With capacity for 2,750 visitors this will be the largest permanent conference auditorium in Holland. The new music hall will have capacity for 7,000 visitors. This combination will ensure a compact and multifunctional complex of international stature, that fits in with the long-term strategy of Ahoy. A hotel and cinema complex are also a part of the future plans. All these changes are a part of the extensive 'Hart van Zuid' city development project.
RAI has started construction on Amtrium
Amtrium - a combination of Atrium and Amsterdam - is the name of the new building that RAI is adding to its complex. Construction work for this building on the north side has already started, and will connect the RAI complex to the city of Amsterdam. The building will boast a large atrium on the upper three floors. The versatile, sustainable center will have a large conference hall with an adjoining spacious foyer, connected to some of the exhibition halls. A high-end restaurant, meeting rooms and offices are additional features. With this addition, the north section of the exhibit hall complex will also have its own conference facility, further enhancing the flexibility of the RAI. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-2015.
Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht nears completion
In 2014, Utrecht will see the opening of its long-awaited multifunctional music platform. The Tivoli Vredenburg venue will soon open its doors, with five multifunctional auditoriums and rooms for various musical genres and events. Virtually all are new as only the former complex’s symphonic hall was preserved. This unique waterfront venue with plenty of conference, break-out, exhibition and event space, will cover over 30,000m².
