Raw materials are becoming scarcer and global consumption is increasing. What's more, the chemicals industry and nature are at odds with one another. But complex challenges are precisely what give the chemicals sector in the Netherlands its energy. That urge to innovate earned the sector the special designation of 'top sector'.
