Photography Exhibition at De Hortus

International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) is the world's premier competition and exhibition specialising in garden, plant, flower and botanical photography. Each year, thousands of photographers from around the world venture out with cameras in tow—into their gardens, their backyards, their local greenmarkets, and the wilderness at large. They all have the same goal, of course, though their subject matter often differs wildly. They’re after one of the most prestigious nature photography prizes out there: The International Garden Photographer of the Year award.

Exhibited annually in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, this is the first time the IGPOTY exhibition will be hosted in the Botanic Garden of Amsterdam. The Amsterdam exhibition features over 35 entries, including the winners and special nominees, from the 2016 Competition no. 9. The winning images are selected within several different categories, ranging from the breathtaking Macro’s to vast wildflower landscapes and to mighty forests, all inspired by the world of plants.

The exibition will take place on 16 April until 19 September 2016.
