All aboard!

Experience the characteristic highlights of North and South Holland with the Best of Holland boat and bike holiday. From the wonderful polder landscapes in the Groene Hart to the traditional costumes of Volendam and windmills of Kinderdijk - you’ll see it all on this fantastic boat and bike holiday. You will start in the capital of Holland, Amsterdam. While you get to know the other travelers over dinner, the comfortable ship sails to Zaandam, where you will pick up your bike and go for a short trial ride.

Traditional Holland

With Zaandam as your home base, you will discover traditional Holland in the first days of the tour. You will visit the Zaanse Schans, where it seems time has stopped. You will cycle through the water-rich landscapes of Waterland to the picturesque fisherman’s village of Volendam. The next day you will sail to authentic Marken, a former island, from where you will cycle along the coastline to historical Muiden and Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot. You will end the day in Weesp, from where the ship sails to the fortified city of Vianen.

Silver, cheese and mills

The next day, the tour takes you to Schoonhoven, which is known as the Silver Town. This will be your starting point for a bike ride through the polders to Alblasserdam, where you will board the water bus to the water-rich city of Dordrecht. If you like you can go for a stroll through the city after dinner on board the ship. After spending the night and enjoying breakfast in Dordrecht, the water bus takes you back to Alblasserdam. On this day you will cycle to the world famous and photogenic windmills Kinderdijk. Check out the visitor center and museum mill before cycling on to Gouda, which is famous for its cheese and candles. Have a good time on the pleasant old market square and pick one of the many restaurants for a lovely dinner.

Cycling through the Groene Hart

From Gouda, the route will guide you through the Groene Hart (Green Heart) of North and South Holland. Admire the traditional Dutch polder landscape with its wide views. You will cycle through Leiden, the city in which Rembrandt was born, to Oude Wetering. The next morning is your last day on the bike. You will follow the river Amstel towards Ouderkerk aan de Amstel and then on to Amsterdam. Along the way, you will be able to visit a cheese and wooden shoe farm, where you can try Dutch cheese. Your journey ends in Amsterdam, where you will enjoy a boat tour through the canals. The perfect way to conclude your holiday!
