A long weekend in Amsterdam
Follow the 48 hours itinerary. On your third day in Amsterdam start the day with breakfast at the relaxed and cozy bakery De Bakkerswinkel (Warmoesstraat 69). After breakfast hop on your bike and head over to the East Docklands area and enjoy some of the city's most stunning new architecture. During your bike trip don't miss the Brantasgracht at Java-eiland, the Scheepmanstimmerstraat, the Whale apartment building and the red Python bridge. At KNSM isle make sure to stop by Pol's Potten (KNSM-laan 39), a great place to find inspiring and unique design gifts.

Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the stunning Lloyd Hotel (Oostelijke Handelskade 34), a monumental building dating back from 1921 that has been transformed by renowned Dutch architects, designers and artists. On your way back stop at the Hilton Hotel at Amsterdam Central Station and enjoy a refreshing drink in the sky lounge bar. The view over Amsterdam is worth a few pictures.
If you are looking for a great bargain head over to the nearby Waterlooplein for the city's largest flea market. From here it's just a couple of minutes to the Hermitage Amsterdam or the Heineken Experience. De Pijp area has the highest bar and restaurant density of the Netherlands and you are likely to find a few great restaurants here. After dinner you can dive straight into the Amsterdam bar scene. Popular hotspot among locals and visit Café De Pijp (Ferdinand Bolstraat 17-19), De Pilsvogel (Gerard Douplein 14), Café De Groene Vlinder (Albert Cuypstraat 130) and Kingfisher (Ferdinand Bolstraat 24).
