Water sports in Friesland

The numerous linked lakes are unique to Friesland and can be found nowhere else in Europe. The Sneekermeer, the Tjeukemeer, the Slotermeer or the Fluessen; you can spend hours sailing, swimming, kite surfing, water skiing or simply sunbathing. There are also plenty of summer festivals that take place here, often revolving around sailing competitions or other water sports, making Friesland even more of a highlight in the summer months.
