Weekend in Haarlem

Haarlem, the capital city of the province of Noord-Holland, is also referred to as the exuberant city of the North. You can wander along the canals, enjoy beautiful art, you can go shopping and you will find fine restaurants serving delicious food. Haarlem is a wonderfully atmospheric city in which to experience the Dutch autumn.

Art and Culture in Haarlem

In addition to the many historic buildings you’ll see in the old city centre, Haarlem is also renowned as an art lovers’ city. Visit the beautiful Teylers musem, De Hallen, or visit the Frans Hals museum, where you can admire the works of Hals himself as well as those of Jan Steen and Jacob van Ruysdael.
