Sailing through UNESCO World Heritage Site Kinderdijk
Unique feat of water engineering
Throughout the world, the vast region of Kinderdijk in the Alblasserwaard is considered proof of human ingenuity in reclaiming land and protection against water. This makes a boat trip over the Lage Boezem of the Overwaard past the authentic windmills a unique experience.
Sailing past authentic windmills
On the Canal Hopper Prins Friso or the Canal Cruiser, you will sail closely past the windmills, and with the Prins Friso you can disembark in various places to further explore the area. Be sure to also take a look in Museum Windmill Nederwaard. This still-functional windmill has been preserved in its original state and is still managed by a true miller.
Kinderdijk by bike
Explore the province with the greatest number of windmills in Holland through the typically Dutch means of the bicycle. Cycle past ancient windmills, through green polders and typical dike villages.
