The beaches of Oostkapelle
Oostkapelle is known for its long North Sea beaches with fine sand, which have been awarded the Blue Flag for their cleanliness and the good water quality. You'll also find plenty of accommodation near the beach, such as vacation homes and apartments. You should also visit the 'Zeeland Riviera', which includes the resorts of Westkapelle, Zoutelande and Dieshoek. The beaches there are lined with dunes up to 50 m high. You can find one vast beach in the neighboring Vrouwenpolder: Breezand is an attractive place, with a pirate play ship and inviting beach restaurants. Another fantastic beach in Zeeland can be found at the neighboring seaside resort of Domburg. You can also find the typical Zeeland groynes (wooden stakes) which stretch out into the sea. Domburg is also home to a beach for dogs.
You don't have to sail, fish, dive, surf or sunbathe all the time at the beach at Oostkapelle. You can also hire a bicycle and explore the polders of Walcheren. You should also visit Westhove Castle and maybe even spend the night there, as it's been converted into a hostel. Terra Maris, the museum of nature and countryside in Zeeland, is housed in a former greenhouse from the 18th century. You can find the interesting museum in the Manteling nature reserve between Oostkapelle and Domburg.

And you just have to try Zeeland delicacies, such as oysters in Yerseke, Renesse with its 21 km long beach is just as interesting a destination as Vrouwenpolder, from where you can see the famous Delta Works.
