Court city

The Hague is one of the most special cities in The Netherlands. Not just because our government seat is located here but also because of its countless monuments, historic districts, and location near Scheveningen (6). The Hague is also called ‘the Royal City by the Sea’ as well as the residence city because of the many members of the Royal House who live in the chic city.

There are many pleasant restaurants and eateries on Plein and Grote Markt squares, which are bustling every day of the week. The shopping is as varied as the city itself, with everything from luxury department stores and well known international brands to pleasant little streets full of boutiques and small decoration shops. The Hague also has much art and culture at the highest level to offer.

A day at the beach

And finally, The Hague proves that a modern skyline and a historic inner city are a perfect combination. A treat is the Scheveningen beach, the well-known seaside resort on the Dutch coast where you can spend the day in the sun in summer and get some fresh air in winter. With attractions like Madurodam, Drievliet (4) and the Omniversum, The Hague has as much to offer to the young. You truly haven’t seen Holland until you have seen The Hague!

Accessibility and parking in The Hague

The Hague is about 30 minutes by taxi from Schiphol airport, and not far from Zoetermeer. You can also get there easily by public transport. If you travel by car, make sure to check where you are allowed to park your car.
