Art and design shopping in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is an inspiring city for many artists and designers. It has been for centuries because most of the ‘old masters’ lived in Amsterdam. And today you can still find a lot of art and design in Amsterdam. Why not explore the art and design shops in Amsterdam after seeing the museums?

  • Browse art and antique shops in the Spiegelkwartier.
  • For works made by young designers, visit the galleries at the Rozengracht.
  • Shop for design furniture and accessories at The Frozen Fountain.

The Spiegelkwartier district lies just behind the Rijksmuseum. Countless art and antiques shops jostle for space in a few narrow streets. From classical to exotic to contemporary art, you will find it all here.

This district in the Jordaan harbours several galleries that mainly sell works by young Dutch artists and designers. Fons Welters Gallery and Ellen de Bruijne Projects are definitely worth a visit.

There are many galleries with special exhibitions along Amsterdam’s canals. Check out GO Gallery for modern art and street art, or visit FOAM on Keizersgracht if you love photography.

Below you will find a selection of the many interior and design shops in Amsterdam. Looking for a different memory of your trip, these are the places to go!
