Basilica of Our Lady

The Basilica of Our Lady (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwebasiliek) is a renowned Roman catholic basilica dating back to the 11th century. The main attraction is the miraculous statue of Our Lady, Star of the Sea. There are claims of healings recorded after the intercession of the Virgin Mary had been invoked.

Marvel at the richly embroidered copes and chasubles, relics in beautiful holders, processional banners, church silver and statues.

The Square of Our Dear Lady

The Basilica of Our Lady is situated on the Our Dear Lady Square (Onze Lieve Vrouweplein). The square was once voted the most beautiful square in the Netherlands. There are plenty of outdoor cafés where you can sit down and take in the surroundings.
