The New Church

The New Church was built in 1656 and is one of the oldest monuments in the city centre of The Hague. It represents the pinnacle of Protestant religious architecture in Holland. The New Church once stood on an island until the canals surrounding it were filled in around the year 1900.

Classic music performances

The New Church ceased to have a religious function in the nineteen-seventies. It is now a venue for business and culture-related events that are organised all year round. The New Church is listed in the top-100 of Dutch UNESCO monuments and has acquired a reputation for the classic music performances given there. Occasionally even the Hague Philharmonic Orchestra will exchange the Dr Anton Philips Hall for the New Church.

Culture on Spuiplein

Spuiplein is the cultural square of The Hague. Next to the New Church lie the Lucent Dance Theatre and the Dr Anton Philips Hall, where music and dance performances are given all year round. Tickets for performances in the New Church can be bought at the Dr Anton Philips Hall, located opposite the New Church.
