Royal Delft, established in 1653, is the last remaining Delftware factory from the 17th century. To this very day the world famous Delft Blue earthenware is hand painted according to centuries-old tradition.
Did you know the iconic Royal Delft earthenware is actually painted with black? During the firing process the black changes into the well-known intense blue colour. Since 1653 Royal Delft has crafted Delft Blue by hand. At Royal Delft you can admire our painters and craftsmen at work in the factory. Besides that various special collections of earthenware are exhibited such as the Orange Ceramics made for the Dutch Royal family and the antique collection from King Willem III.
