Terschelling

 

Ferry company Doeksen sails from Harlingen in Friesland to Terschelling. You can travel to Harlingen via the Enclosing Dike (N31) and via Leeuwarden (A31). Signposts show you the route to the harbors of Harlingen (Harlingen Havens). You can also travel from Leeuwarden to Harlingen by train. To connect with the ferries you have to get off at Harlingen Havens Station.

Cars are allowed on the island of Terschelling. We recommend you reserve a place for your car well in advance. If you do not wish to bring your car, you can park it at an attended parking lot. Please be there approximately thirty minutes before departure of the ferry as it is quite a walk from the parking lot to the quay.

Regular ferry Harlingen - Terschelling approx. 120 minutes.
Regular ferry Harlingen - Vlieland approx. 90 minutes.

Fast service Harlingen - Terschelling approx. 45 minutes, via Vlieland approx. 80 minutes.
Fast service Harlingen - Vlieland approx. 45 minutes, via Terschelling approx. 90 minutes.
Fast service Terschelling - Vlieland and v.v. approx. 30 minutes.

Duration and frequency

There is a regular ferry (two hours) as well as a fast ferry (50 minutes). Both sailing approximately three times a day.
